Church Matching Grant
One of the ways a local church can cooperate with the university is through the Church Matching Grant Program. This program enables a local church to contribute toward its student’s education, and the University will match the amount – up to $1,000 for United Brethren Churches and up to $500 for all other churches. The matching funds are applied to the student’s financial aid package. When more than one student is from the church, the amount is divided equally among all the students from that church attending HU. (see Church Matching Grant form)
Tangible Personal Property
Donate rare books, gems, artwork, collections of value, antiques, equipment and other personal property.
There are a number of ways you can benefit from a gift of land,
commercial real estate, or residential real estate. Charitable plans may
provide you with a way to sell your property tax free, increase your
income for retirement and benefit from a charitable tax deduction with
valuable tax savings. For additional information, please email the
university at advancement@huntington.edu or call 260-359-4042.
Life insurance provides a wonderful way to support our mission. Simply
name Huntington University as the beneficiary of your policy. Your life
insurance proceeds will help further our good work and your estate will
benefit from an estate tax charitable deduction based on the value of
the proceeds paid.
You also may wish to consider making an
outright gift of a life insurance policy. Contact your life insurance
company and designate Huntington University as the new owner. The
benefit of making a charitable gift of life insurance may include a
current charitable income tax deduction. If the University decides to
keep the policy in force, you may make cash contributions each year to
pay the policy premiums. You will be entitled to an additional
charitable income tax deduction for each of these contributions.
