The group spent the day looking at the University mission, reflecting on the five pillars of the strategic plan, and brainstorming on the University’s preferred future action steps. Strategies were identified for consideration in setting strategies to accomplish the strategic plan and inclusion in the all-University goals for 2017-18.
Faith Forward 2022 Review Strategies
- Comprehensive marketing strategy for all academic programs (1 ✔)
- Accelerated programs: ABSN, B-MSW – 4 years, bachelor – 3 years and transition to teaching
- More summer programing
- Kindergarten on campus
- Specific strategy to increase total population diversity of students, staff and faculty
- Complete SEO research and implement (4 ✔)
- Strategies - $40,000 – Increase stealth inquires by 10 percent (2 ✔)
- Increase revenues through conferences (1 ✔)
- Develop pilot program for under-enrolled academic programs (5 ✔)
- 3-2, 4-1, etc. programs for graduate-undergrad academics, MBA-business, OTD-OTA, counseling-psychology
- Music growth plan
- Implement a plan for institutional research - data collection and evaluations
- Support for 3-year academic majors
- Acquire funds for science research
- Increase alumni involvement in recruiting and giving (1 ✔)
- Campus-wide commitment to mission and spiritual health (2 ✔)
- Create task force to identify expense reductions without employment reductions (3 ✔)
- Form a deeper, more effective relationship with Fort Wayne newspapers to get better and more frequent press
- Renovate student center (6 ✔)
- Faith Forward 2022 comprehensive campaign – leadership phase
- Facilitate successful HLC accreditation review (3 ✔)
- Budget for .25 reductions in endowment draw for 2018-2019
- Develop a 5-year plan for graduate program expansion (1 ✔)
- Investigate a collaboration of engineering program with another engineering school (2 ✔)
- Create intentional method of installing HU students as interns in all UB churches and possibly non-denominational churches (3 ✔)
- Expand ABLE program to include on-campus component
